100th Posting!

So here is the 100th POST OF THIS BLOGSITE! Wow! 100 posts. A little milestone for myself. Instead of the usual monsters and guns here's a little somethin abstract. Free your minds everyone. Set your inspirations ablaze.

Big Bad

So here is test round two...this time with a little bit more color thrown in. I'm still trying to refine the process of working strictly in Photoshop--which leaves me with the conundrum of wondering it painter is going to be the blender....hmm...there's a thought. Anyway, I still need to play with shadows but this is a better result that the previous. Onward with the thought process! Can you believe this is gonna be the 99th post? Dang dude---how nuts is that?

Now for Something Different

So I'm a big Daryl Mandryk fan and lately I've been studying some of his technique. Normally I'm such a Corel Painter guy but my current status as an illustrator only uses Photoshop. So I thought--okay...let us see if Photoshop can be put to the test as the more dominant concept program. I sketched up a Mandryk inspired gorilla dude (inspired or knock off either one is okay since this is just a test) As it turns out--its not too shabby....both programs are still great...they just each have different traits to offer. Nevertheless a fun excercise and a brief respite from the weekly sketches....

Weekly Freshness

So, I've survived my first WEEK of studio (not a whole one if you count my sister's graduation on Friday--but a nice respite since from the breakneck pace I cut at Fisher while going to school, working on internship while holding down my post at Gamestop)---but here I am nonetheless. Spectaculario? Oh yes---its intense work but this is all that I've been working towards. I'm just grateful to be making a living at doing what I love (man I've waited so long to type that!!!). In the meantime, here's the weekly freshness---somethin big blanned for this shtiz somewhere down the road. In the meantime, stay inspired and enjoy!

NEW DAWN

So this past week may have been yet the most emotional week. Saying goodbye to people who have been family is tough, but now I'm goin to someplace where I feel like I finally belong, in terms of being an artist. Ah, the fragile nature of life.

WEEKLY FRESHNESS: At Long Last

This week....has been...wonderful. I love ART. I love artists. I love....life!! Now--its onto more paintings to wrap up. I've been doing more writing, graphic design, and sketching this week than painting. Must dive back into the fun pool to warm up for upcoming projects. Take care all!
